Comet Interior Design

An interior decorator or designer will renovate your home so it looks fresher, cleaner and nicer, often if you are moving house, but not always. They will take measurements and speak at length to you about what you like and what needs changing. During these interactions they will be deciding what sort of personality you have and what will suit you. Even if you don't verbalise it. I spoke for an hour to an interior designer and told them I wanted a wood tiled floor and a big majestic fireplace. She put all this into her design but said that external window shutters would be great too. When she showed me pictures I realised I loved them and remembered my grandmother used to have some that I liked.

The renovation work can be done fairly quickly, but it all depends on what you are having done. I had my flat completely gutted and redesigned and it took two weeks. I helped do some painting as well, and, due to my DIY background, I helped fit a few brackets towards the end of the first week. But the best thing you can do is simply leave them too it and let them work their magic. I actually went out towards the end for the day and when I returned they'd put up the exterior shutters and they looked great. I could see them as I was walking in from outside. They were made of wood and had a very retro look to them, painted bright yellow.

Some interior designers will return a few months later to see how their work has bedded in. Sometimes a new layer of paint is required because the walls will be 'breathing' and this will mean some of the paint may be peeling or cracking. I actually didn't have any problems with my flat and ended up going out for a beer with the designers and builders when they returned because I'd got on with them so well when they came before.
